The cotton is not bleached, not is it sanforised to protect it from shrinking and crease formation nor is it mercerised to enhance lustre, dye absorptivity and strenght of fabric. The first time cotton net is washed, it will shrink by about 3-5%. After washing, pull the net into shape while it is still damp and hang it on a line to dry. Depending on situation, it can also be rehung at the bed to dry out. For a very smooth appearance cotton nets can be ironed before they are rehung on the bedroom.
