EXPEDITION mosquito nets are long-lasting insecticide impregnated nets (LLIN) treated with deltamethrine, and thus provide both mechanical and chemical protection from all mosquitoes and other insects. Impregnated nets are recommended by the WHO for regions of intense malaria transmission in Africa, the Amazonas and Asia. In theory, mosquito nets are the best means of preventing mosquito bites when asleep. In practical terms, however, mosquitoes can enter through holes or bite sleepers rolled up against the netting. The deltamethrine keeps moaquitoes away and generally kills them if they attempt to settle, depending on their length of contact with the net. EXPEDITION mosquito nets ward off all species of mosquito as well as bed-bugs, lice, fleas and other pests, and remain effective for up to 20 washes. This translates to about two and a half years of use, depending on how often the net is washed. |
